I have trained in several types of therapy, including emotion focused (EFT), dialectical behavioral (DBT), and cognitive behavioral (CBT). As a result of this research, my training, and over a decade of providing psychotherapy, I believe a strong working relationship forms the basis of change, regardless of whether we are processing painful. Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy tries to identify and change negative thinking.

Accepting Individual, Premarital Couples and Married Couples

I’m a licensed clinical social worker with over 9 years of experience in the field of mental health. I’ve worked in various settings and roles, with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds, facing seemingly insurmountable challenges in their lives. One thing I have learned from this experience is that human beings are resilient, wired for survival and for relationships. Life is filled with struggle. Grappling with heartbreak, betrayal, trauma and loss comes with its expectable pain. Fortunately, it also spurs growth we aren’t capable of acquiring when we get “too comfortable.” Discomfort can get us up off the couch, a much better vantage point to explore the hard truths keeping us “stuck.” I believe that therapy should provide a safe and supportive environment to unpack our struggles, without the threat of judgment for being human.

I am available to support you individually or as a couple as you explore your values, contemplate what’s working for you, and grow through your unique struggle.

My Goal as Your Therapist:

As we do this, we will begin to develop a relationship based on trust and commitment to our collaboration. Using a variety of techniques we examine ways to manage painful emotions, understand how they play out with the people you are closest to and look for new ways to experience your life.
